Re: Hackers sending email with database screenshots

Update Journal to the latest version. Or better, use a proper web theme instead of the Journal extension, the latter doesn't comply to OpenCart standards and will therefore be of a higher security risk, with unnecessary core engine file modifications. I personally agree but good luck stopping those...

Re: Plugin not supporting PHP 7.3 needs to use 7.1, which OpenCart version can ?

If it is an opensource extension, you could make a post in the commercial help section to see if a developer can help make the necessary changes so that you can use PHP 7.3 which is better from a performance and security standpoint.

Re: Siteground's backup/restore does not work due to /storage being outside /public_html

Hi, Would appreciate some advice please. I've done fresh install of OC3.03.6 and installed a couple of extensions. Hosting is with Siteground and has automatic daily backups. I recently been moved off cpanel and onto their own rather frustrating Site Manager tool. My problem is restore of the backu...

Re: Can't add 3 options for a product

It sounds like it may be related to an issue with the variable max_input_vars
I would suggest reaching out to your hosting support and explaining the issue. They can adjust this max_input_vars setting for you.

Re: Spam, bots and delete customers without orders

reCaptcha should stop a lot of this or you can look into a firewall. Yeah, I try installing Google reCaptcha but couldn't make it work, then the one you see and still like that, they overpass. If reCaptcha isn't working for you, you may want to look into a firewall from someone like Astra, Sucuri, ...

Re: .htaccess is modified each time I browse the site

I would also suggest rotating your passwords on a regular basis and find a service to provide a firewall and malware scanning. There are many out there and we have a couple available if you'd like to read up more about them. Glad you were able to get your site back up and running and that you're mor...

Re: Can't edit htacccess file. It returns to default.

Very likely this is Malware. Have you run a scan? Your hosting company should be able to run a free scan (cleanup would cost extra) using Imunify. We run into this a fair amount and it's usually because of outdated software and/or weak passwords.

Re: .htaccess is modified each time I browse the site

malware, clean it. Exactly and make sure ALL passwords (Opencart admins, database password, hosting control panel, FTP accounts and even your email accounts if they're on this same server) are changed and file permissions are correct. Also make sure your software is all up to date (OC, Theme, Exten...

Yeah, I believe our server admin is going to do something like that. We own the server.
You should be able to do this ahead of time to test your site and make any changes before it goes permanent.

Hi, I would like to upgrade my opencart version 3.0.3.3 to the new 3.0.3.6
That is where I stopped reading.
Is OC 3.0.3.6 already stable version now? ???
I would call it the latest release. Whether it is stable or not depends on who you talk to. We have customers using it.
