Re: 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.4.0

After some more testing I found out when conforming an order in checkout it hangs and gives the following errors: PHP Unknown: mb_convert_encoding(): Handling HTML entities via mbstring is deprecated; use htmlspecialchars, htmlentities, or mb_encode_numericentity/mb_decode_numericentity instead in ....

3.0.3.8 to 3.0.4.0

I searched the forum but wanted to make sure i'm not overseeing anything. Currently I have the 3.0.3.8 from the maintenance branche running smooth on php8.1 - Q1 : Is it wise to upgrade to the latest 3.0.4.0 from the maintenance and go to php8.2? Just be more futureproof. I know clean install is pre...

Re: BTW verleggen

Gelukt.

BTW verleggen

extension licenses

I'm trying to develop a new test environment for updating and 'reinventing' my recent store. The live shop is on Oc 2.3.0.2 and i'm trying to setup a test site with Oc 3.x. Installing is no problem. But when I want to add my purchased extensions most of them need a licence key (which i have, but afr...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

Bussiness owners, designers and developers normally don't mix well :)

You get into an endless struggle to get a compremise between making money, looking good and working properly.

Re: Journal, Journal 2, Journal 3

Doesn't OC have to blame itself for situation like these? After 10 years of OC there are like 5 available theme's that are 'generally safe to use' and the marketplace for extension is 'at your own risk' since there is no quality control. So it really doesn't matter if one installs extensions on basi...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

Problem with the theme's mentioned above is that they are quite minimalistic. I sell a graphic orientated items with lots of options. With 800 visitors a day I learned quite quick that most of the remarks from customers are: I didn't see this, I didn't read that. After I completely redesigned my sit...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

So, what are good theme's to use that have flexibility to make a modern layout and don't look outdated? It is clear why people 'like' Journal. What is the best alternative?

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

It's people like you that make this forum. And there are more than plenty who know that. It's like on any other forum. 80% oneday visitors, 15% only readers, 4% regular posting without really adding value and 1% giving the forum value. The 19% know who these folks are and appreciate them for sharing...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

I think it is without a doubt that basic OC does not comply to modern standards on functionality needed for ecommerce. We need tons of extension for that. And as we all know, the extensions offered in the marketplace is like russian roulette. In the end you will loose. This thread started on the fir...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

Now, years later, i'm running a succesfull store with a more than average income. And I'm basicly told to go f myself because i'm not worthy of opencart. Well, if one compares your 'Value' to the OC Community with the amount of 'helpful' postings you made, during all those Years, you would probably...

Re: Too many poor quality extensions!

As a fulltime opencartshop owner the best advice I can give users to search for a good independent developer. I made the mistake too many times to have an extension installed or a problem fixed by the developer himself. That often resulted in a fix 'covering up' the problem but creating a bunch of n...

Re: 2016 & Ongoing - Why are there so many Terrible themes?!

Just a final - and last - note here: I have spent quite a time in answering this here. This wasted time could be also used to answer real support requests and questions from people who need support. Don't you think? But this isn't a support forum, it's a discussion forum! ;D Anyway, i've said what ...
