Which Version of Opencart works the best?

I currently downloaded Opencart 2.0 and stuck on step 3 of installation. Keeps saying database info is wrong.

Anyone please recommend which version is the best to downloading without errors / bugs etc

OC 2 has some great new features, like custom user fields, responsive default theme and admin panel, but if you are looking for stability, we vote for 1.5.6.x
