Today I got several messages about comments being posted on all my extensions pages. The email showed the same user named basam.rabea posting spam in the comments section about templates and extensions, along with an external link. Is there a way for me to moderate comments before they appear in the comments section on the OpenCart Marketplace?

Alas, all you can do is remove posted comments.

There is no way of pre-moderating comments before they are posted.

You should contact support about spam comments though, preferably before deleting them, as I am not sure they are logged after deletion.

There's currently a comment spammer for a bunch of extensions in the marketplace. I've reported him multiple times, but he keeps signing up for new accounts, so the OpenCart team is having a hard time blocking him. I made some code-based suggestions, so hopefully Daniel will implement something to stop this. In the meantime, if someone spams your comments, inform the OpenCart team here:

I made contact yesterday and the support team disabled the spammer's account. I then had to go through all my extension pages and remove the spam comments.

Here a thought: I'm sure this happens a lot. Why don't they think about an update that makes it possible to pre-moderate or to at least pre-moderate only comments that have a link in them -> it makes sure it no spam. :-)

Just contact the support team and tell them about spam comments. They will resolve it soon.
