yes it's coming along. Taking a bit longer than expected, because my biggest client had some urgent projects that had to be done. He redesigned the checkout to an (almost) One page Checkout which I think you all are going to like

Is there some way to get to another checkout page or something? I really must be missing it, because the checkout in the latest svn and on the page you linked to look identical to the existing checkout from what I'm seeing.

The reason a true one page is hard to write is for these exact reasons. Many parts of the checkout rely on information from other parts. If you have zone based shipping or payment you can't show them until you have the address information. There are several things in the checkout process that rely on other information being available and you have to account for all that stuff to happen via ajax. It's just difficult.

how much would it cost to customize the current 1.5 checkout?
I can't see what benifit it brings and I don't think it makes it 'easier' you have to enter the information one way or another, some marketing geek (prob American tehy love marketing buzz words for some reason) has tagged it with a 'one page check out label' now every store owner wants it because its the 'hip' thing to have. If you want it get a coder to do it for you.
