Paypal Standard - Adding "Missing Order" Status

I am using v1.4.9.3 of Opencart and the native Paypal Standard Extension is setting the status for all Paypal orders to "Missing Orders". I have my settings set up correctly in the admin section for the extension. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I have a live client who is getting rather upset that she has to sift through "Missing Orders" to find valid paypal orders. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Also, I'm not able to upgrade the OC version because of custom programming that had to be done to the core.
