Hello users,

This question may be offtopic here, but i need your kind suggestions. I am now going to reinstall an operating system in my computer.
I had Windows 10 earlier. Now I am thinking to use Linux. I have not used it before so I have a few doubts.

Will it be difficult to use and understand Linux?
Will Linux be faster than Winodows 10?

Thank

Newbie

1. If you are gamer then linux is not for you.
2. If you really want linux, you can make dual boot, but first you can play with a linux distro in Virtualbox, Vmware to undestand how work. You can test Ubuntu or derivates (Xubuntu,Lubuntu,Kubuntu)

You can easily create bootable ISO-images on DVDs or USB-sticks and then boot up a distro like Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora etc , to see how it works. In particular make sure it recognizes all your hardware. Once satisfied, you can then install from the bootable media.

Linux is usually faster than Windows 10. And IMHO it's easier to use, albeit there will be a learning curve if you have never used it before.

For OpenCart I would definitely use Linux rather Windows.

I'm a big Linux fan and have used many of the distros. For a new user Linux Lite would be a good choice. Personally I favour Xubuntu and Lubuntu. That said, Manjaro is pretty polished. For gamers Steam have their own distro.
