Quick Edit Admin Panel for Opencart - quick edit for Products, Categories, Information pages & Brands

Save time, quickly edit the current page when browsing the store front as admin.



How it works

- Log into admin as usual

- Click the store front button to browse the store front as admin

- Visit a Product page, Category page, Information page or Brand (Manufacturer) page

- You will now have a link in the admin panel to edit the current page. Click this link to edit the current page as admin

Update - added compatibility for use with custom themes

Update2 - added multi-store compatibility, icons (if font awesome is installed), fixed issue where bar gets hidden with some custom themes

There is a new 'View in Catalog Mode' button this will help you quickly see what the product etc. currently being edited looks like from the store front.

An update that should speed up editing, increase productivity & improve ease of use has been worked into the latest release of Quick Edit Admin Panel.

Update4 - added drop down menu so that you land on the correct tab in the admin dashboard, small bug fix (review tabs issue)

New update

The extension now supports installations where the admin directory has been renamed (this is sometimes the case as a security precaution) - this is seamless and the user does not have to edit any config file etc.

Add-ons are now possible

The first add on is 'Disable / Remove' and enables you to disable and remove from the store: products, categories, info pages & manufacturers.

This is a great time saver - these changes can be made with 1 click from browsing the front of your store!

I have just spent around 30 minutes testing as many page edit links as I could think of, and every single one worked perfectly - I did have to rename a couple of file paths in the xmls as I have renamed my admin folder, but that was it!

I will list the vqmods I have installed which do not (at least with the order I have them in) conflict. I have edited some of these to play nicely together in the past:

Phew! What a list!

While several of these vQmods have required me to edit them to fix conflicts, so far I have not found A SINGLE CONFLICT with jgsw's excellent Quick Edit Admin Panel

EDIT: My favourite thing so far: no more "invalid token session" errors from having too many windows open and getting mixed up when editing products/categories/chains etc - you just edit, check and back to edit again. I rate this clever extension a 5* and more, very good work jgsw!

2ND EDIT - The only thing I have spotted that is not 100% ideal is that the Customers Online Plus (by grgr) reports show the url with admin path and token in the exit and landing pages lists, although I am sure his extension could be modified to avoid recording this if necessary.

Ok, so I can address the 'feature' that you mentioned in your 2nd edit and will implement the changes it in the next release, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Please keep me posted with any other suggestions.

Hi stokeyblokey, I've just sent you a pm.

I've fixed the issue that you mention in your edit. Also, made a tweak so that when you click the eye icon (to view product etc from store front) it uses the seo url. This should be beneficial for 'Customers Online Plus' or any other analytics being used.

I want to give you a 5 star rating but i can't in the store, it says i need to buy it first.

Is it possible to have a direct link to the admin-store view?
So that i can go to http://www.sitename.com/quickedit and it will load the front-end of the shop with the quick edit admin panel activated? Cause that would be perfect.
