In this Topic, it's all about OpenCart v.1.5.6.5_rc, the last Release Candidate of the OC v.1.5.6.x Series.
The original OC v.1.5.6.5_rc Github OC Download can be found here:
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/tr ... 306fb75707
---
Unfortunately, this great last 1.5.6.x Version was never been given the 'Final' Status officially, because OC v.2.0 existed for some Months already, when 1.5.6.5_rc was made public on the Github.com Opencart Developer Site. And just re-announcing a new 'final' OC v.1.5.6.5 Version would have influenced and so delayed the spread of the OC v.2.0 Version, it's further Development, as well as the OC Extension Market, because OC v.1.5.6.5 would have been favoured by Parts of the OC User-Crowd for still some time to come. But OC v.1.5.6.5 was 'codewise' nothing really new, it was just a 'fixed + finished up' Upgrade from the very popular Opencart v.1.5.6.4. It's original Changelog can be found here:
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/bl ... angelog.md
---
The original OC v.1.5.6.5 Github.com/opencart - Download is still equipped with the 'non-responsive' Standard 1.5.6.4-type Theme. Famous Coder PEKU once created an Extension, later implemented into his Version Opencart EDGE, containing a regular OC v.2.0.3.1-type Bootstrap Theme, as well as OcMod :D , into his Version, to look and work like a later Version 2+ OpenCart. It's still available, and like my personal v.1.5.6.5-Derivates, OC LIGHT, equipped with the famous MERKENT Bootstrap Theme, and OC V-PRO, also equipped with Peku's Theme Extension, they're all capable to work up to latest PHP v.7.4.10 already. Additional Code- and Security- Upgrades have also been applied, on all Versions, listed in this Topic, to meet today's PHP + Security - Requirements.

Our Developments have been designed for those, just looking for a speedy LIGHTWEIGHT OpenCart Solution, and lots of already existing Wisdom, to be and stay as independent as possible, for still some Time to come. Existing Theme-related v.1.5.6.4 Extension offered might have to be reworked a little, to match Bootstrap Themes, but other than that, a huge Assortment of Additions exists in the OC Extension Section, if one plans, to serve some Custom Purpose. And fine OC-Coders exist, willing and able, to support Users, when it comes to Custom Requests.

This Topic has been created, to serve and specifically support Users of the upgraded 3 OpenCart v.1.5.6.5 Editions. They all can be downloaded here:

Find an informative Posting on replacing an older OC 1.x Version with OC v.1.5.6.5,
and to peak it up, with a tested Range of free Mods, to its best Performance and Speed:

As mentioned in the Topic, this 'Download' is an 'updated' 1.5.6.5_rc Original Code, refined
by --xxvirusxx-- and me. But its still equipped with the 'non-responsive' OC 1.5.6.4 type Theme.
Most existing 'responsive' OC v.1.5.6.1+ Custom Themes could be used. At least, as long as such
a Theme does NOT use some of it's own controller/... - / model/... - system/... - admin/... Files.
Because if it would, such Files would possibly also be required, to be updated, to fully meet
latest given (security) Spec's. And one more thing, Journal + PAVO Theme Extension Users are
on their own, or require usually paid Support, I'm not familiar with them at all, and rather not
confronted with such matters here ... 8) Just to have this mentioned too ... ;)

Isn't it time to move on from such an old version, even if you've added updates to it?

Well, just compare it with anything else, like:
Isn't it time to move on from an old gasoline-driven Car, and move on to an electric one ...
But even Car Manufacturers all offer a Variety of Cars + Engines, to meet, what Users are looking for.

And that, under the Aspect, that Github OC, as well as this Place here, is still full of unsolved
matters, but none of them is related to 1.5.6.4+ Versions. So, there is not one good reason, to
move up, just to basically start again from scratch, to play Tester again . At least, as long as
it works well, as it's fast like hell, and as it's about as secure as anything else.

And it's a genuine OC Version, nothing else. It's therefore sure not a matter of 'competition',
to accept this Version, as it exists, as a real Alternative for those, just looking for the most simple
way, of building and running a proven working OC Software. But it won't keep many from moving
up, so, just don't worry, competent DEV's will further be able, to make a living out of it ... :D

The ONLY negative thing about it is, from the viewpoint of DEV's at least, that most everything
already exists, it so leaves relatively little room, to still generate much Income out of it. Still,
many Dev's generated quite an amount of money out of 1.5.6.x, so, talking it down now, only
proves to me, that many don't care about Quality, as long as the money keeps on rolling in.
But that's no argument to me, to keep on, following the Band-Waggon, again and again, as
long as 1.5.6.5 does it's Job, in such a perfect way.

But if one really cares, lot's of Extensions and Themes are still waiting, to be 'matched', in
order, to so eventually still make some profit out of it. ;) It won't just go away, so, better
take your chance, instead of fighting, or even ignoring, it's existence ... :P
