Dear friends of the opencart Community!

I have some questions regarding the development of oc2 vs oc1.

1. Is there any documentation regarding coding differences, has anything changed in fact there or does os2 only contain new features? For example if os2 will go for new php features or other behaviors?

2. Will os1.x still be developed or will it only be bug fixes?

More questions will probably evolve from answer but thanks in advance. -Chris

Maybe/probably after the release OC 2.x there will be some documentation, but I would not hold my breath....

After the release of 2.x I think that development of 1.x will stop.

Maybe a bug-fix will be released in case of a large bug but again, I would not hold my breath....

In most cases you will find bug-fixes made by forum members here on these forums.

Regarding the coding differences, maybe these are the two major changes that you should get familiar with Modifications (similiar VQMod) and Events (method notifications/hooks)
