There's no "extension" to update your OpenCart installation, you'll need to hire someone to do the actual upgrade for you. There are lots of upgrade services offered in the opencart.com marketplace (https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... /extension), so check out there and see if you can find someone to do it for you. You can also try posting in the 'Commercial Support' forum if you want to hire someone to do it for you directly.
I've been recommending OpenCart 2.3 because of the bugs in OpenCart 3.0 that still haven't been fixed. Most extensions are available for both versions, so it shouldn't be an issue going with a slightly older version --- you can still find the mods you need.
I'm not familiar with xxvirusxx's version, but if it has standard bugfixes in it, then it's probably a safe bet.

Personally I would also recommend 2.3.0.2. I've downloaded xxvirusxx's bug fixed version and am going to give that a try.
