Hy,
I must admit I am a bit "out of knowledge", dont know detailed which important upgrades were made til my instalment of OpenCart v.2.1.0.2. as I was very happy with it for the last 4-5 years.
Is it worth updating to the latest?
I know with the updates not all the addons/extension will work well, as I have 2,3 extension/addons I just cannot miss.

I stil think v.2.1.0.2 is very good for my small online shop - the only problem I see, more and more new addons/extensions are made for OC v3 and above.
Is it work updating for the latest? What is the chance that all addons/extensions would work well?

Thank you!

In Short: NO
Better use one of the latest OC v.3.x Versions like one of those, to have a tested Version;

I'll second that. Although IMO Condor's 2.3.0.2 version is worth trying:

thx!! for your replies, will consider it... atm I will wait a bit to see, but maybe at some point I just have to update.
Are there any security advantages in the new opencarts? Is from the security point of view, a 2.1.0.2 ok?

Personally I would improve the security of any OC version I was using. They're all open to brute force attacks, DDOS attacks and SQL injections. It's the same for all platforms nowadays unfortunately. With a bit of time and effort you can tie OC down pretty tight.
