I am having issues while using the extension installer. Once I chose the file and the upload begins, I get a popup that reads:

I had the exact same problem.
Turned out to be that I hadn't complied zip in PHP.
Do a phpinfo and see if that's the case for you.
Should have it's own heading with:
zip
Zip enabled
Extension Version $Id: bunchoflettersandnumbers $
Zip version 1.11.0
Libzip version 0.10.1
If not, you'll need to add it, or if hosted somewhere ask them to add it.
