same product different price per category

Hi we are trying to create a cart which has one product that is added to lets say 3 categories.
The same product is added to three different categories , and for each category the price for the product should be different.

What we do right now is we just duplicate the product into three copies , with only their pricing differ.
What I want to ask is is there a faster way to do this?
or are we doing it wrong?

hopefully someone has an idea about this , thanks a lot.

Can't fully think why the price would change for the same item regardless of what category it is from.
