Hi,

Google displays "In Stock" how do we stop that showing up in the search engine? We don't display stock quantity on our product page as we have a shop front and keeping accurate stock on the website is just not something that works for us.
Running 2.3.0.2

Email Larry or Sergey?

But seriously, why would you not want it to show your products are in stock?

We are a store front so sales are done over the counter, on the phone and being an installation shop stock is being used as needed to do the jobs so stock is changing all day and the online cart is not the only Point Of Sale.
So since people don't like to read fine print they see Google saying "In Stock" and then argue with us when we try to explain that we have no control on that info. Trying to avoid confusion between what Google shows and we say on the phone or email etc.

There are many ECommerce platforms that don't display stock or price in search engines so its not a Google thing but Opencart.

Since you know Larry and Sergey maybe you can call them and ask for me  ;D

But Google is getting that info from your product page which is saying In Stock?

So surely you should not be showing "In Stock" on the product page if you don't have it in stock - Larry and Sergey won't be happy if they find out about that and might actually penalise you!

It sounds to me like you need to make sure your OC stock levels are actually accurate, perhaps by connecting it to your till system.

The product page is not displaying "In Stock" this feature is disabled at the admin end. So where does Google get the info from? Yahoo and Bing do not show "In Stock" ..............

If that was the case and all our products are set as “do not display stock” and all products have quantity of 1 in stock at the admin page why does Google show in the search some Links with price and “in stock” and some other Links with no price and no stock just a standard link to the product which is all we wont.
Make no sense at all.
