I got an email from GoDaddy saying that I need to change my legacy hostname from ip-50.63.202.40.ip.secureserver.net (that's an example) to the new hostname format which would be 40.202.63.50.host.secureserver.net (note the reversal of the IP octets). If I make this change, will it affect anything in Open Cart or the database? I'm using OpenCart version 2.3.0.2.

If you used this hostname anywhere in settings, then apparently you need to update it.

Is there anywhere in the Open Cart settings where you would have had to enter your hostname?

I guess you can think about changing your hostname as changing your host. If you were to move your Open Cart site to another host, you would transfer all your files and database to that new host. But would you change anything else in the settings or any of the files?

Not that I can think of. However, you may have to update your DNS to pointing to the new host.

Having said that, if you are serious about ecommerce, don't use GoDaddy, go for a more professional webhost.
