Hi there,

I'm planning on upgrading from OC 3.0.2.0 to the latest version. Can I just follow the regular instructions for that. Or are there any quirks that I should know of? For example maybe it's better to first upgrade to a lower version than 3.0.3.7 and upgrade to 3.0.3.7 from there?

Any tips are appreciated!

I recommend that you upgrade it to the latest version directly , because upgrading to the next version and then to the next version till the latest version may cause some issue while upgrade progress.

you can use the upgrade instruction from here http://docs.opencart.com/en-gb/upgrading/

No, please not.
Why?
3.0.3.7 has no benefit in comparison to 3.0.3.2 which you should use when you want to stay with 3.x

If you require professional assistance for the upgrade to be done without issues to the latest version, either contact me directly via the forum PM, or create a new service request in the Commercial Support section of the forum. It does have some benefits to use it as long as people knows how to use it.

It seems when you run installer for 3.0.3.2 on a PHP 7.4 server, it seems to OK that it is compatible. No red flags on the installer screens.

But after I installed on PHP 7.4, there were definitely at least 3 bugs fixes I had to apply for some errors I was getting (such as TWIG whitespace issue)

I am hoping those were the only issues with running 3.0.3.2 on PHP 7.4. I am not seeing any more errors after doing the three fixes.

An chance there is a list of bug fixes needed to get 3.0.3.2 to work error free under PHP 7.4?

Mos of the list of bug-fixes' already integrated into the OC v3.0.3.7 release.

Could you maybe share those bugs and their solutions with us?

Better to just upgrade to the latest version would simplify the whole task.

One big bug for me was related to TWIG. I think it was incorrectly dealing with white space. and broke several of my extensions.
There was fix here:
