But please Daniel.
If the issues will take so long time to fix. Why in hell did you put out this release. It should be a beta version then.

Keep in mind that you don't have to download the new version when released. It is somewhat assumed by now that releases will have a point release soon after for bug fixes. I'd wait at least 2 weeks after a main release before even downloading it if you are not a developer or willing to test on a dev site only for many of the bugs to be flushed out and then a usually a bug fix release will be out.

You should not be using new releases for upgrades until they've had some time to soak in testing. People need to learn to control their urges to always be on the bleeding edge.

i never said issue would take so long to fix!

read what i said properly. all issues for 1.5.5. have been fixed within hour or minutes and pushed on to the current download.

these are the changes for the last 2 days:

Well done on the new build :)

Looking forward to playing with it - but I agree with the earlier posters about having beta and stable releases rather than updating a single download from github. It will make support harder than it needs to be.

Hello @Daniel, just want ask simply question:
in Github there is Master and 1.5.5.1 Branch, what do you think is best for download ? Master or 1.5.5.1 branch ?

The 1.5.5.1 branch is only for 1.5.5.1.

The master is the aorta for future releases.

Thanks for adding the bugfixes into 1.5.5.1, but could you also do a 1.5.5.2 release at some point once you feel most of the bugs have been fixed? Just those of us using that version know where we're at. Thanks!

why would it make support harder? you won;t have the different people coming back to you asking for fixes for the same problems over and over.

it only has fixes.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for all the hard work you have done with v1.5.5.1!
Just wanted to ask about v1.5.5.1 branch and default download, noticed no bugfixes have been applied for a couple of days, are fixes only going to be pushed to master or will you continue with fixes to the v1.5.5.1 branch or default download also?

Once again thanks for all the great work with opencart! ;)

only important bug fixes are added.

ones that people will complain about or stop the system working.

Thanks Daniel,

In you're opinion what would be the best way to distinguish and extract bugfixes from Master into v1.5.5.1 ?

Highly appreciated !

it needs to be something that stops something working that would be easily noticeable or a security issue.

you just need to keep looking at the commits on github.

I'm looking for the Custom Fields, I've seen text related to this in the language files.

Where can I add these custom fields?

Ignore. I think it wasn't finished and will be moved somewhere else in new release I suppose.

Code: Select all

Notice: Error: Table 'shop.shop_customer_group_description' doesn't exist
Error No: 1146
SHOW COLUMNS FROM `shop_customer_group_description` in xxx\xxx\xxx\xxx\mysql.php on line 50
What I have to do with that?

I have 1.5.2.1 version right now

You should first start by describing how you got that error; otherwise, it'll be too hard for us to help you.

Why would you post a support question in a release topic?

We have separate forums and topics regarding all kinds of question, problems and issues.

Or are you just lazy and think that a question related to 1.5.2.1 could easily asked in a topic regarding 1.5.5.1?

Hi,

On v. 1.5.5.1 the new filter module does not work on my website.

I have installed the extension, added it to my category, and added it to most of the products in that category.

It doesn't filter...

What could be wrong?

Thanks
