Currency symbols gone haywire

I have restored an SQL database from a few days ago. Everything is ok except the currency symbols for the euro and pound have gone haywire. The dollar symbol is ok.

Pound Symbol appears as: £
Euro symbol appears as: €

What's going on here?

Have fixed the problem by editing the symbols in oc_currency.

The symbol values had changed but why, I have no idea.

Probably just an encoding issue when you exported/imported. For others with this issue, note that you can change the currency symbols in the admin panel by going to System > Localisation > Currencies.
