I've been trying to enable the affiliate program as I've had enquiries from several customers.
I have enabled it and set up my own affiliate account and I have completed a purchase using my tracking link. However, I do not see anywhere in the backend about this purchase being completed via an affiliate link, nor does it say anything in the order itself. I also looked via my affiliate account on the front end and there was no notifications or anything telling me that I had referred someone who completed a sale and I've earned x amount of commission, etc.
Also, how does the affiliate request a payout via PayPal/Cheque etc? I've read the feature documentation and none of this is clearly displayed.
Thanks in advance,
Callum

Apologies. We're using 3.0.2.0.straightlight wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 12:34 amHi. No precise OC version with 4 decimals posted, As a new forum user, please read the most recent forum rules.

I've done quite a few things;straightlight wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 1:22 amWhat were the exact steps you did in order to obtain these results?
I originally attempted to change the tracking code in 'https://www.wrightsport.co.uk/index.php ... t/tracking' to 'test123'.
I noticed that you only have the option of creating a tracking code against a specific product. However, I have enough technical knowledge to know that if I followed 'http://www.wrightsport.co.uk/?tracking=test123' that it'd save the cookie anyway. I clicked continue after changing my tracking code to 'test123' and done a purchase following 'http://www.wrightsport.co.uk/?tracking=test123'. Nothing happened in regards to affiliate commission etc etc, no mention of it at all.
I then looked in the back end at my customer profile and checked the Affiliate tab, which still showed the tracking code as one of the randomly generated ones. This obviously meant that 'continue' on the 'https://www.wrightsport.co.uk/index.php ... t/tracking' page did not update the relevant field in the affiliate account.
I then tried to follow the original tracking code that was there, via 'http://www.wrightsport.co.uk/?tracking= ... 6AauDlTk5l'. I done a purchase after clearing my cookies and then following the aforementioned link. Nothing happened in regards to affiliate commission etc etc, no mention of it at all (again).
I then decided to just follow one of the OpenCart generated links against a product, being 'https://www.wrightsport.co.uk/speedo-un ... 6AauDlTk5l'. Again, nothing about affiliate commission anywhere in the order itself, or the back end.
This all adds to my confusion on the Affiliate program in general. Further to this, there's nothing in the affiliate account section for the customer to request a payment, etcetera. Nothing to tell them how much money has been made and things like that.
Any help is appreciated!
I did built an affiliate report per-affiliate with total affiliate sales based solution for OC v3.0.2.0 last week but not yet been published. Although, I seem to have made the right decision to keep it. If you're interested to have this report extension, send me a PM and we'll discuss it if no other extensions have been built on the Marketplace already about it.This all adds to my confusion on the Affiliate program in general. Further to this, there's nothing in the affiliate account section for the customer to request a payment, etcetera. Nothing to tell them how much money has been made and things like that.

I've done some more digging and I've noticed that my site wasn't adding the affiliate against the order. I done this manually and checked the order again which gave me the option to add the commission. I then went on to my affiliate account and had a look in transactions, and there it was.
The only thing I really need to know now is how do the affiliates request to be paid? Is this all handled manually by myself?
Thanks
Affiliates can also use the tracking codes on their end but, yes, you still need to manually handle their pay by yourself unless using an automated report extension that can provide the results periodically, such as my provided suggestion extension above, so that no affiliates would be behind their billing periods. Is this all handled manually by myself?

1. In the settings, if I tick/enabled Automatic Commission, the commission is automatically added to the transaction list immediately after the order is placed. Isn't it suppose to release upon order status change to Complete?
2. What is the point of Payment Method in the Affiliate registration form? Every commission an affiliate earns goes to the store credit and can be use to offset order total. How do affiliate withdraw the commission or admin manage the withdrawal?
We are also trying to find out how the Affiliates program works in version 3.0.3.1.
Is there a way to see which the orders have been placed via an affiliate link?
We found out that by checking a specific order we can approve/add the commission of that order manually by clicking the " green plus button", but of course we don't when which orders are placed via affiliate links.
Is there a way to get a list of all orders that qualify for an affiliate commission?
My apologies if I forget to provide sufficient information to answer my question. Please let me know if additional information is required. Thanks in advance

Oddly I set up a user group called "Affiliates" and associated it to anyone signing up as an affiliate, but they still get dumped into the default group so I have to manually change them before I approve them.

Affiliate features are changing a lot between OC releases. What type of affiliate system are you looking into?seanstorm100 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 6:20 amHey straightlight, where is the link to the extension that you have developed?

I am good with most functionalities of the default as its fair, I only want the cookie to be removed if the customer checks out during the cookie window, therefore the affiliate will only earn from the first purchase made by the customer, also it would be good to be able to track the affiliate earnings in the dashboard.

Since this request is about an automated task based on the first orders of every affiliate, this could be easily accomplished by creating a simple event.seanstorm100 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:54 amI reduced the time from 1000 to 30 days, so within this 30 day period the affiliate will only earn from the very first successful checkout. After this, the buyer is converted to a customer and if he or she wishes to come back this should be based on the service that we provide in their initial purchase.
