Hi,

Does anyone know how to add a MailChimp-created code for an embedded sign-up form to OpenCart (3.0.3.2)?
Site: https://www.4rissa.com

Layout:
- On home page, account, cart, checkout pages across CONTENT TOP FULL,
- On category, product, account, information pages in the BOTTOM LEFT COLUMN,
- Also include an embedded form in the FOOTER

I know there are integration extensions available, and I do have MailChimp Integration Pro installed, however MailChimp is not sending double opt-in emails to new subscribers through the API and MailChimp's support team admitted their developers know about the bug.

Here is the resolution that MailChimp Support suggested (also note, the single opt-in option to bypass the email sending issue is disabled for my account):

Hey there Rissa,

Thanks for reaching out to Mailchimp support. The issue you are experiencing is caused when Compliance has forced a double opt-in on accounts, and contacts imported by API calls don't receive the DOI email. You can see the notification about your DOI by clicking the dropdown menu next to your name (at the top right of your Mailchimp screen) and then selecting Account.

This is a known issue amongst our developers. I definitely understand the hinderance this can cause to your operations, so I've submitted feedback on your behalf internally to our team.

On the other hand, a workaround that you could implement would be to use a Mailchimp created form and embedding it onto your page. This would accomplish the same goal and ensure that users are added to your audience. You can find more information on that process here: Add a Signup Form to Your Website: https://eepurl.com/dyikxr

Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any further issues or questions, and have a great rest of your day.

Thanks,

Jonny

I think that extension is by Johnathan at Clear Thinking and his support really is second to none, so you should ask him initially. He may even reply here if he sees this ...

Yes, I've been in discussions with Rissa about this issue. ;D The signup form is necessary due to some bugs on MailChimp's end, and they told her to use the embed form for now. If anyone else is having issues with double opt-in e-mails from MailChimp not going out, please contact me at www.getclearthinking.com/contact and I can give you details.

Rissa: for the form, the easiest way would probably be to use the OpenCart HTML module, and paste the MailChimp embed code in there. You can then place it like any other module, so you could replace my extension's module with the HTML one. Please try that out, and if you have issues with it send me an e-mail and I can use your login info to take a look at it for you.

For embedding a module in the footer, that's a bit more difficult because OpenCart doesn't natively support that. You could do it with my Infinite Module Positions, but since you already have my MailChimp extension, I can also give you instructions on how to do that. Using a link to the MailChimp sign-up form might be easier for that, because embedding their form and then styling it may prove difficult. You can e-mail me about that too if you want.
