[OC 3.0.3.2] - Generating/Granting Customers reward points at checkout only?

Hi All

Trying to come up with a not-hideously-complicated way to bypass the standard rewards point system & grant customers 1 point per GBP spent. For Example:

Sally spends a total of £33 - she gets 33 points at checkout.
Mark spends a total of £19:99 - he gets 19 points at checkout.

Ideally this is to use on a future order rather than the existing order if possible.

If anyone knows of any ideas/potential solutions, that would be amazing.
