Have searched and I don't think anyone has pointed this out yet. Smashing Magazine has a great new open source country selector available. Seems to work really well. Might be worth thinking about adding in to Opencart.

Whoa.. Chones... you are still around? long time no see

I took a look at the link... truth be told.. the whole "autocomplete" change in opencart has left me with a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth... maybe because it is very lacking.. but I long for the return of dropdowns..

Perhaps an alternative for this would be to have all that aliasing but for a dropdown... Just like in dropdowns now you can start typing and it will drill down based on the keys typed within 2 secs of eachother.. add the alias ability there so that I can start typing "Holland" and it will switch to Netherlands. re-sorting more common countries like United States vs United Arab Emerates could also be covered by a database popularity flag

Just some personal thoughts

Cheers Q. I had some time off - my day job got a bit heavy for the last 7 or 8 months.

Occassionally pop in and out. Now have some time on my hands I'm working on a "responsive design" template for v1.5 which will work on both desktops and all mobile devices. Some info here: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=38657 . Am almost finished.

I agree about the autocomplete - but this one does seem to have been thought through well. Just thought it might be worth at least bringing to you guys' attention, especially as it's open source.

Am working on a new store at the mo and may give it a try.

I'm not a fan of the product autocomplete either, but the country selector seems to work pretty well. I think the issue with selecting products is that most people want to do multiple products at once, whereas you're usually only selecting a single country.
