[RELEASED] Advanced Featured Module

Just Released!!!

This module has been designed to improve Featured products management in Admin section.
With core Opencart, to add products to "Featured" and show them in the Home page, it is necessary to go into Extensions->Module->Featured and to add products singularly, from a not really comfortable interface (especially if you manage many products in your catalog).

This module allows to add products to "Featured" and show them in Home page, directly from each Admin Product page. When you insert a new product in your catalog, you have the possitibility to associate it to a special "Advanced Featured" category, obtaining directly it is shown in Home, in the Advanced Featured module showcase.

It is a fully separated module, it can be used together with standard one, without any conflict.
It can be shown in Home or in side columns as for the other similar modules.

It works at the moment with english or italian language but it can be really easily be adapted to any language. Ask me for any support on this, I will give you simple instructions.

It requires to execute a very simple MySql query into your DB, in order to add the special Advanced Featured category to your shop. No modifications to DB are done, only the addition of a "normal" record in category, category_description and category_to_store tables. If this can be a problem for you I can support and guide you, doing changes via standard Admin pages.

add to cart button could be removed with a specific customization.

This module is now erroring when you run the sql command

MySQL said:

#1054 - Unknown column 'meta_keywords' in 'field list'

Ran it as sql instead of importing activated module and get this error

Fatal error: Cannot access private property Document::$title in /home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/admin/controller/module/advanced_featured.php on line 8

Can we have an update for this mod please stable version is now out

What release of oc are you using now? I suspect you are not using 1.4.9.x...

We are using the latest stable version we would not expect our clients to use old versions of a script.

I understand your point, but the contribution was published as compatible with 1.4.9.x and not other releases.
Opencart 1.5.x Release is almost completely rewritten and each other day a new .x sub release is published.

I will update the contribution, but at the moment I'm really busy and I don't think I will be able to do it before October.
If you purchased it for error, you can try to ask a refund to Opencart.com.
