I Have Too Many Categories For The Horizontal Nav!!

My store has too many categories to list in the horizontal navigation, but i do want them all in there.
Ideally i would like to simply put all the categories under a heading of 'Categories' or 'Products' them all displayed in columns in there when hovered.
I am using a custom theme and can't figure out how to do it. i would be very grateful if someone can please help me achieve this.

Well a link to the site, or at least some clue as to what your site looks like now, what theme you're using etc etc would go a long way in getting yourself some help. We aren't mind readers

i want to just turn it into something that is a bit easier to view like columns with another child level if possible.

i meet same problem,I have many categoreis more than 30,so i wish the module of catetories can be shown in horizontal in top or bottom of my page(not in NAV bar),is there any easy way ? thank you.
