Hello!
Although i did not make any major changes to my webshop (or server), my front end of opencart remains blank.
The admin backend works very well and flawlessly.
What could possibly be wrong?
Is there any debug mode so i can check if there are files missing?

It looks to me like you added an index file to the root directory, that shouldn't be there.
The only index file that should be in your shop's root directory should be index.php

but it returns that there is no such folder.
So... either you have the name wrong, or you put it in the wrong place.

I just uploaded the standard index.php file + the language folder + german language folder "de_DE"
The error log is switched on. The directory hasn't changed in months, so this won't be the problem @Selective555
Changing to default theme doesn't change anything.

it looks like this might be a misconfigured "config.php" file. Can you take a look at the value for the "DIR_LANGUAGE" variable and see if it is correct ?

Set your “Output Compression Level” to 0 in the System > Settings > Server tab.
Then open php.ini and add code below:
display_errors = 1;
error_reporting = E_ALL;

sorry for not being as fast as you need, but I try to prioritise my work based upon client urgency, free v paid and time/effort to fix, access to systems.
The easiest way for me to ascertain what is causing your issue is to get access to your site. Whilst I understand that this seems risky, if you read through the hundreds of fixes that I have provided people over the years not one has complained.
Can I ask that you PM me some details and I will take a look to find the fix. It's much faster than going backwards and forwards with suggestions for you to try. It will also bump you higher up my urgency list.

Solved. The error log was misleading, as it was for another error.
The issue here was that the host hadn't configured encryption on the server using the same library as what OpenCart needs. I modified the encryption.php file in the system directory with new code that worked.
