I am experiencing checkout errors when the shopping cart exceeds 99 different items. I have been unable to increase the cart size or find an extension to increase the cart size. Any and all help is appreciated.

it might be your server settings, they usually have a max session size that you need to increase. OpenCart itself does not have a max items limit for the cart.

If you would like me to take a look please get in touch with us I would be happy to help you resolve this.

nothing to do with the session, no cart data is stored there and is limited by system memory.

check if you receive 413 errors in your logs.

check with your host if they limit post size in apache, php or if they set the limit in mod-security (if they have that).

apache:
LimitRequestBody

php:
post_max_size

mod_security:
SecRequestBodyLimit
SecRequestBodyNoFilesLimit
SecRequestBodyInMemoryLimit

???
Of course the cart is stored in session, what are you on about?

But good point, it could also be post_max_size, but from my understanding opencart never posts all the products when you add or remove, so perhaps not.

But yes checking all those limits you mentioned is also a good shout.

that entirely depends on what version of OpenCart you are running and what settings you have, but your right OpenCart 3 does store this in the DB by default, I didnt notice what category this question was in

So you may indeed be right and the issue is apache/php memory or MySQL memory limitations

it indeed depends on the version, not on any settings though.
