I think my email is configured properly.

But right now, the Admin is getting no notification when there is a new order, or registration by customer or affiliate.

Plus, I am also unable to send emails to any of the customer groups, it keeps saying -

Your message has been successfully sent to 0 of 3 recipients!

What can I do to get this right? I have found a few tutorials for OC 1.5 or OC 2.x but I can't find anything for OC 3.0x

Any direction from any of you guys would be helpful.

Thank you.

You mean on - System-> Settings->Store -> Mail -> Mail Alerts?

Yes, all 4 boxes checked, Register, Affiliate, Orders, Reviews

Or, were you talking about any other areas of subscription?

No, that is the one.
Your contact mail works?

No, actually nothing related to email is working as far as I understand.

I tried to send an email using the 'contact us' form as a customer - won't work.

I tried to send emails to customer groups from the Admin panel, that doesn't work either.

I think I may have messed up the mail setup. I can't seem to find a good tutorial for OC 3.0x

I tried both mail and smpt. couldn't get either to work. Here's a screenshot:

Have you checked both your OpenCart and server's PHP error logs? Have you asked your host if they even allow the use of PHP mail?

Have you tried you tried the SMTP email with a SMTP Hostname with a prefix of ssl:// and port 465 or tls:// with port 587?

I just asked the host.

I tried with SMTP but I don't think I was able to configure it properly. I coulnt find a good tutorial that explains what should I type in for different configuration.

For example, I don't know what to write under 'Mail Parameters' or what should be my 'SMTP Username' - is that the full email or just the username. Is there a place/documentation I can use that provides guidance about these things?

My host said -

phpMail can be used only with locally hosted mailboxes (using our SMTP servers) - your website is using external mail service so the mailboxes for it can not be used with phpmail in this account at present.

This is true, I have my email services included with my domain subscription, I am not paying my web-hosting server provider for email services. What should be my solution at this point?

Then use your mail authentication credentials for that with smtp.
