We are running CDK Dealer Management System in house for all of our invoicing and inventory control but CDK doesn't have an online store option so we use Opencart...but the two are not connected so we have to manage pricing and stock changes between the two systems manually with is majorly time consuming! There has to be a better way! Has anyone tackled this issue yet? I'm sure that I am not the only one to have this issue?

I'm thinking something like this...
1. Export real time pricing and stock data from CDK
2. Have Opencart import the CDK data
3. SQL routine to update Opencart database
4. Cron job to do it every X amount of hours

I am looking for any input or ideas, please! I can't continue updating 1000+ part numbers at every price change!

I'd bet no one has. IMO opencart is a good cart but not one for something that has that many product updates a day.
Sounds like a commercial job request and if you are going that route I would choose one of the top developers here.

Thanks for the reply! Do you think there is a better cart out there for a larger store or you talking custom all the way?

No, the cart ist good, but what he means that this is a request for a paid job.
Therefore you can post that in the commercial section of this forum and wait then for offers.
Or you can contact also a developer you trust directly.

At the end you will have to pay for such - while not much if the developer has already done similiar jobs (as we did already for several wine and auto part shops).

There is a module that can do this and much more
https://opencartsuppliers.com/
Check the documentation
https://opencartsuppliers.com/en/gettin ... troduction
You can contact me if interested.
For now, you can buy the module from the Ukrainian Opencart marketplace here:
https://opencartforum.com/files/file/81 ... ys-listov/
I hope in 2-3 weeks it will be available here as well.

Sorry!
The module has more than 69 000 installations since 2012 and is the most powerful tool I have ever seen.
IonCube is the only way to keep it from pirating.
I work closely with the module author and can guarantee that you can trust it.

Sorry again, but to "keep it from pirating" and using ioncube is the wrong approch and business model.
Beside this, I never would use any script in my shop don't know what the code is doing in the background!
But if someone wants to use such and buy it, he has the right to call for the source code (read GNU/GPL).

Does me really not interest how many installations this module may have, the author - who is not willing to publish who he is - can say eveything to make the "product" more Interesting ..

And what, if it does not work as expected?
Then who can the customer ask?
Who can guarentee to get money back if it is not working - is there something like this?

Too many stupid people nowadays are throwing their money away - for nothing.

Final question:
If the author is so serious, why not making it public?

The author is a very reputable Ukrainian Opencart developer and the module is offered on the Opencartforum.com marketplace which is registered in Estonia. All payment, support, and author contacts are there.
I'm responsible for the support and the documentation in English.
Also, I can provide you with a license to test the module.

I would be interested IF the module is safe as mentioned above! CDK is working on a data export routine but it won't be ready until after the new year...
